After a successful barbecue, sometimes there’s leftover pulled pork – wonderfully tender, smoky, and too good to simply reheat. That’s exactly what happened to me when I still had some pulled pork in the fridge and happened to have a pizza dough in the freezer. The idea was quickly born: why not make a special pizza out of it? A Pulled Pork Pizza! 🤔
🍽️ Leftovers Become a Highlight
Using up leftovers doesn’t have to be boring – quite the opposite! 🙌
With a few high-quality ingredients and a well-preheated pizza oven, you can create a pizza that’s truly impressive. Juicy pulled pork meets a light cheese base, fresh onions, and the spicy contrast of a good barbecue sauce. 😍
🛒 Ingredients (for one pizza):
- 1 pizza dough (approx. 280g, homemade is great)
- approx. 150g Pulled Pork
- 100g Fior di Latte
- 20g freshly grated Parmesan 🧀
- ½ red onion, cut into thin rings 🧅
- Olive oil
- Barbecue sauce to taste 🍖
- optional: some coleslaw as a topping after baking 🥬

👨🍳 Preparation:
- Preheat Oven:
I use the Everdure KILN R pizza oven, preheating it to about 450°C 🔥. Thanks to the rotating stone, the pizza gets an even browning – without any manual turning. 😎 - Prepare Dough:
Let the pizza dough thaw slowly (if frozen) and spread it out with your hands – don’t roll it ❗ The dough should remain light and airy, as it should be for a good pizza. 🍕 - Top the Pizza:
Drizzle some olive oil onto the dough, then spread the Parmesan and Fior di Latte. Then add the pulled pork evenly on top – don’t be shy with it 😁 - Bake:
At approx. 450°C, the pizza only needs about 90 seconds 🕒 – so stay close! The crust should be golden brown and crispy, and the cheese nicely melted. - Finish:
After baking, add the red onion rings and a few stripes of barbecue sauce on top. If you like, complement it with coleslaw or Puszta salad for extra freshness 🥗

🔄 Alternative Toppings – if you fancy a variation:
- 🫙 Puszta salad in a jar – A wonderfully spicy mix of white cabbage, cucumbers, peppers, and onions. It pairs perfectly with pulled pork and adds freshness and crunch to the pizza.
- 🌶️ Pickled jalapeños – for a fiery kick
- 🧀 Smoked mozzarella or scamorza – for even more BBQ character
- 🌽 Corn – for a touch of sweetness
- 🌿 Fresh cilantro or flat-leaf parsley – for a fresh contrast
- 🧅 Spring onions – mild and aromatic
- 🥒 Pickles – an exciting, tangy counterpoint to the meat
✅ Conclusion
This Pulled Pork Pizza is a great way to creatively use up leftovers – and it’s incredibly delicious! 💡
Whether as a quick dinner or a weekend highlight – it brings variety to the table and is perfect for the BBQ season 🍽️🤩
